Skiing in Jilin: Wanda Changbaishan, Beidahu (870 m vertical) and Songhua Lake, with the new Shenyang-Baihe high-speed line, 2025-26 airport buses, rime ice and visa notes.
Jilin Province has three of China's strongest ski resorts within a few hours of each other: the Wanda resort at Changbaishan, Beidahu, and Songhua Lake just outside Jilin city. A new high-speed line and seasonal airport buses have made them far easier to reach.
Beidahu: Beidahu, 56 km from Jilin city, hosted all the skiing, snowboard and biathlon events of the 2007 Asian Winter Games. The main peak, Nanlou Mountain, is about 1,405 m, and the commonly cited maximum vertical is 870 m. In 2025-26 airport bus T979 ran from Changchun Longjia in about two hours for 80 yuan.
Songhua Lake: Songhua Lake, now run by China Tourism Group and no longer branded Vanke, sits close to Jilin city on Daqing Mountain, with over 95% forest cover. It had 2.3 million m² of skiable area and more than a million visits in 2025-26. Airport bus T989 ran from Longjia in about two hours for 60 yuan.
Changbaishan: The Wanda Changbaishan International Resort near Songjianghe has 43 trails over about 30 km, nine of them advanced runs built to Olympic standard, and resort hotels in the base village. The Shenyang-Baihe high-speed line, opened on 28 September 2025, gets you from Beijing Chaoyang to Changbaishan station in as little as 4 hours 33 minutes; for the Wanda resort use Changbaishan West, the former Songjianghe station. Club Med Changbaishan is also in the area.
Which Jilin resort is best? Beidahu for vertical and steeper terrain, Songhua Lake for the easiest access from Jilin city and Changchun airport, Changbaishan for a full resort stay with hotels on site.
When do Jilin resorts open? In 2025-26 Songhua Lake, Beidahu and other Jilin resorts opened on 15 November 2025. 2026-27 dates had not been announced on 20 October 2026.
